Sliema/St. Paul’s: Gozo, Comino & Blue Lagoon Ferry Cruise

1.Gozo, Comino & Blue Lagoon Ferry Cruise

★★★★★★★★★★4.1 · 780 reviews · from $40Our pick

Cruise from Sliema or St. Paul’s Bay along Malta’s northern coast, then spend about two hours in Gozo and two hours at Comino’s Blue Lagoon. This is an independent ferry trip, not a guided tour. The air-conditioned catamaran has Wi-Fi, toilets, indoor seating, and a bar. Gozo transport, food, and the Blue Lagoon access pass cost extra.

“This particular “tour” is basically a ferry that takes you to Gozo and drops you off, you walk around for a few hours on your own, then they pick you up and take you to Blue Lagoon. There they help you get a speed boat ride for additional $$, and wait for you while you try to get some beach time. It’s not bad but if the beach is packed (it’s a tiny beach), then it would be better to be on a boat that allows you to sunbathe and jump off while anchored away from the beach. Overall, we liked it, it’s air conditioned and comfortable.Read more”

“Absolute shambles. worst HOPO we ve been on. No one co ordinating at disembarkation of ferry. Finally found someone on red bus who checked our ticket via phone & told us to go on green bus. Got on it as instructed by lady outside green bus. Ticket issuer spoke very badly by telling us to get off & go to red bus for assistance. Finally same lady that sent us to green bus accepted our ticket this time. For some reason our paper ticket with QR code was not enough By this time we missed our bus. They got an additional one some 15 min later. The driver drove like…”

“While the travel to Comino was good and had good communication from the host prior to departure, we had a terrible experience getting back from the Island. The jetty was packed to an unsafe level with no organisation of who was going where or on what boat. There was a lot of pushing and I thought I was going to fall in to the sea at one point. We were also asked if we wanted to travel back to Malta or Gozo without being told that the Gozo boat was far less frequent and the one boat that did turn up for Gozo became full almost instantly - we were…”

Guides such as Lisa, Thomas, Joe, and Cédric have helped guests make the most of a six-hour private tour.

“This was a great day! Our tour guide Lisa was fantastic. She was waiting for us with a sign when we arrived off the ferry and we loved our little Jeep! We had a shade but it was open air to feel the breeze. We went around the whole island visiting churches, the old temple and windmill, the salt pans, the citadel, and had a great seaside lunch. Lisa talked about the history of the island and places we saw and was a friendly, easy-going guide. It was a great day!”
